Job Opportunity: Pharmacist (Travel)

Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Clinical Allied Travel


Job Description

  • Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care.
  • Identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
  • Perform duties as a registered pharmacist in a manner appropriate for patients aged 0 to adult.
  • Ensure medication doses are appropriate based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system.
  • Verify that patients receive the correct medications, minimizing dispensing errors.
  • Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
  • Follow aseptic technique and infection control in preparing sterile products.
  • Enforce aseptic technique and infection control among technicians and pharmacists.
  • Complete annual re-certification and achieve at least 90% on aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam.

Schedule

  • Night Shift: 7 shifts on / 7 shifts off
  • Shift Hours: 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required.
  • Licensure: RPH certification from the state of Texas required. Must hold a valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred, specifically in medication preparation.
    • 20 hours of training in compounding sterile products preferred (accredited by ACPE or ASHP).

Contract Length

  • 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
