Surgical Tech - Certified

Overview

• Surgical Technologist role serving as a primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures.
• Based in Paducah, Kentucky.
• 26-week contract.
• Shift: Mon–Fri, 0630–1500.
• Call: every 3rd weekend and 1 to 2 nights a week.
• Must be willing to help in other specialties as needed.
• Unit/assignment reference: CST Neuro.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with 7 years of experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C).
• Technical diploma in surgical technology or comparable military training.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing into cases and setting up instruments and supplies.
• Maintaining the sterile field during case setup and throughout surgical cases.
• Passing instruments, assisting the physician as needed, and supporting draping and patient positioning.
• Performing instrument, sponge, and sharps counts.
• Completing post-case cleaning duties, including gross decontamination of instruments and ensuring the surgical suite is disinfected and stocked for the next procedure.
• Completing mandatory hospital education and maintaining compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements.
