RN Operating Room

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Specialty: Hospital, Direct Patient Care (Nursing) Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 4x10, 6:45a-5:15p, on call required (10 hours per day, 40 hours per week)

Role Overview

The RN implements patient-centered nursing practice in the Operating Room. Responsibilities include:

• Performing and documenting comprehensive assessments, identifying risk factors, and developing prioritized problem lists
• Implementing patient care therapies and procedures, and monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition
• Explaining procedures and treatments to patients and families, and addressing their educational needs
• Coordinating admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegating tasks and overseeing team members' patient care
• Participating in unit quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Operating Room experience of at least 1 year, obtained within the last year
