Job Opportunity: Interventional Technologist I

Location

  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Employment Type

  • Clinical Technician

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks (option for 13 or 26 weeks available)

Work Schedule

  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (rotating day off per week)
  • Call as needed

Job Summary

  • Entry-level position working under supervision to develop competencies in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology.
  • Provides specialized diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedure support for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Supports medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and monitoring of various conditions.
  • Works in diverse care settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic centers, and outreach clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Use specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems and document technical findings.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with protocols and accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree or above program in Radiologic Technology or 2 year RCIS program

Certifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oklahoma
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or ARDMS - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI - Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) or CCI - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • ARRT - Vascular Interventional Radiography or ARRT - Cardiac Interventional Radiography or ARRT - Radiography or CCI - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • CCI - Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)

Experience

  • Interventional Radiology Technologist with 1 year of experience within the last year

Cons

The unit I was on was mostly made up of travel nurses, which they seem the hire some of the laziest people I’ve ever met. There is a reason they offer such a high pay rate because this place is horrible.
