Job Summary

The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Responsibilities include preparing patients for radiological procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxiety.
• Prepare patients by positioning and adjusting immobilization devices and equipment.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using protective techniques and devices.
• Maintain quality and production of radiographs by following standards and processing images.
• Document patient care services and verify exam completion.
• Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Manage radiology supplies inventory.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment following procedures and regulations.
• Keep professional knowledge current through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an X-Ray Technologist (X-Ray Technician), including experience within the last year.
• Experience as a Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Technician.
