Registered Nurse – Wound Care

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Shift Length: 9 hours, 4 days per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: No weekends or holidays required
• Float Requirements: May float to outpatient wound clinic in Woodruff, WI
• On Call: Possible low census call; minimum 2-hour callback

Unit Overview

• Outpatient procedural department focused on wound care
• Nurse practitioners develop plans of care weekly; RNs implement these plans
• Includes inpatient and emergency department consultations
• Patient ratio approximately 1 RN to 8-9 visits per day with CNA assistance

Primary Responsibilities

• Topical wound care
• Compression wraps
• Wound VAC management
• Total contact casting
• Conservative sharp wound debridement
• Ostomy pouching system changes and treatment of peristomal skin breakdown

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Dress code: any scrubs, closed-toed shoes, no fake nails or nail polish
