Ultrasonographer - Diagnostic Imaging

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including:
    • Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, Renal; normal and pathology)
    • Gynecological (breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, pelvis; normal, pathology, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric)
    • Obstetrics (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester; amniocentesis; complications; biophysical profile; gestational age; placental grading; abnormalities; IUGR; uterus/adnexa)
    • Neonatal (congenital anomalies, neonatal head)
    • Superficial structures (abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid)
    • Vascular (carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex)
  • Perform procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative imaging.
  • Use equipment including Canon i700, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.
  • Floating to other units/departments as needed.
  • 40-hour shifts with on-call duties when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in an acute care setting.
  • ARDMS certification.
  • Vascular Technologist experience.
  • Active BLS certification (AHA Certified).

Schedule & Other Requirements

  • Variable shifts.
  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
  • Dress code: Personal scrubs or healthcare professional attire.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
