Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
Seeking RNs to float between Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units. The role involves caring for inpatients including those holding in the Emergency Department.
Unit Details
- Float between MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU units across two campuses.
- Patient populations include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac patients (post-MI, post-cardiac cath, CABG post-op day 3-4).
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
- PCU: 1:4
- MedSurg Telemetry: 1:5-6
- Use of nurse aides in all settings.
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow oxygen in PCU and MedSurg.
- Telemetry monitoring with monitor techs on PCU and MedSurg Tele; RNs must interpret cardiac strips.
Required Certifications & Exams
- Current state RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
- Minimum 1 year experience in PCU setting.
- Comfortable titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM.
- Schedule published 6 weeks in advance for 4 weeks at a time.
- Night shift may allow block scheduling.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Holiday coverage included in permanent staff rotation.
- No call or standby requirements.
- Assignments communicated by text message 2 hours before shift start.
- Travel between campuses approximately 20-25 minutes.
- Dress code: solid color professional scrubs; transitioning to navy scrubs.
Orientation
- 8-hour general hospital orientation day.
- 12-hour orientation shifts on MedSurg Tele and PCU units.
Additional Notes
- Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule and not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any related facilities within the past year.
- Charge nurses do not take patient assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license for Arizona.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- At least 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience and 1 year PCU experience.
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage titratable drips.
- Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam prior to contract.

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
