Job Opportunity: Resource Pool Nurse (All Units)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Facility: JW Ruby Memorial Hospital

Position Overview

• Role covers all Medsurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within the hospital.
• Requires a well-rounded nurse with strengths in Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology.
• Epic electronic health record experience is required.
• Level 1 trauma experience and previous travel nursing experience are preferred.
• Travel teams must be submitted together.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Details & Ratios

• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Stepdown units: 1:3
  • Medsurg/Telemetry units: 1:6
• Each unit has up to 34 beds.

Units Included

• 8 EAST: MedSurg (Stepdown & Floor)
• 8 WEST: Stepdown/Floor
• 8 NE: Stepdown
• 6E: Long term antibiotic infusion unit
• 7 EAST: Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit
• 7 WEST: Stepdown & Floor
• 7 NE: Ortho Neuro
• 10 EAST: Neuro Stepdown & EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)
• 10 WEST / 6 WEST: Neuro
• 9 EAST: Surgical Oncology/MedSurg (Stepdown & Floor)
• 9 WEST / TCTU: Medical Oncology/Stepdown
• 8 WEST: Weekend night block scheduling options (Friday-Saturday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday-Monday), 7pm-7:30am

Requirements & Additional Information

• Certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Must wear royal blue scrubs.
• Submission rules:

  • Only one submission allowed at a time across the entire WVU system.
  • Driver’s license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years before reapplying.
  • Previous travelers must have been gone for 2 years if they worked there for 1 full year.
  • Only 2 candidates can be submitted per opening; if maxed, submissions will be held until a spot opens.
• Individual unit requirements apply as listed in the internal system.
