Location: Weirton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Medium-sized hospital in northern WV, short drive from Pittsburgh, PA
• Cath Lab Tech Traveler position, start ASAP for 13 weeks
• 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
• Cath Lab open Monday-Friday, staff works 3 shifts per week
• 1 room, 4-12 cases per day (busiest on Mondays and Thursdays)
• On call 2 nights per week and every other weekend

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (highest required years of experience)
• Prior exposure to Interventional Radiology (IR) and peripheral vascular cases
• Skilled in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac and Peripheral Cases, including fistula work
• Experience with equipment and procedures including impellas, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, roto
• Comfortable with conscious sedation and airway management
• Ability to read and interpret tele rhythms and respond appropriately

Certifications

• BLS required
• ACLS required (optional in description but listed as required in additional info)

Work Environment & Duties

• Pre-admission and post-care in Holding area
• Procedural nursing in Cath Lab
• PICC line insertion
• IV conscious sedation and airway management
• EMR/Equipment: GE MacLab (switching to Phillips Xper in 2025)
• 2 Cath Lab/IR suites, 1 Hybrid room, 7 holding rooms
• Average 16 cases per day including cardiac (PCI & diagnostic - LHC & RHC, pacemaker implants), vascular, IR cases, mediports, dialysis catheters, AAA stenting (hybrid lab)
• Equipment used includes impellas, IABP, shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, swans, roto

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (05:30 - 18:00)
• On call 1-2 weeknights per week
• On call every 4th weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• May be asked to participate in holiday call rotation
• Call response time: 30 minutes with a 4-person team (2 RNs, 2 Cardiovascular techs)
• Charge nurse present on each shift, assists with flow and assignments
• No floating required
• Unit-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts with a preceptor

• Scrubs provided (royal blue)
• Must include a copy of unexpired driver’s license with submission
