Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced Postpartum nurse
• Location: Los Angeles, California
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: No call required
• Holidays: One major and one minor

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS
• NRP
• California RN license
• 4 full years of Postpartum experience

Preferred

• Travel experience

Unit Details

• Postpartum unit
• 28 Postpartum beds
• About 3,300 births per year
• Ratio: 1:4 couplet care
• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment if needed
• Nurse aides / OB tech available depending on census, usually 1-2
• Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts on unit

Floating

• May float to NICU to care for feeders and growers
• May float to Peds, a 12-bed low-acuity unit

Clinical Notes

• Common patient types include 20 weeks and above, high-risk blood pressure cases, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance abuse
• No gyn surgeries on postpartum
• OB attending in house 24 hours
• RT 24/7 and Pharmacy 24/7
• No IV team
• No vents
• Scrub color: Navy
