Role Overview

• 13-week contract
• Night shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Unit: PCU; Pen 3E CVU
• 36 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3, 1:4

Required Qualifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Able to care for non-invasive respiratory support, including BPAP and Heated Hiflow
• Able to manage some drips in the titratable meds policy for IMC units
• Chest tube management
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Must be able to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Must be in state for the week of orientation

Preferred / Additional Details

• Common patient types: Cardiac, Respiratory Compromise, Post-Procedure Recovery
• Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Cardiac, Antihypertensive, Metabolic, Antiarrhythmic, Sedation and Analgesia
• Charge nurse has no patient assignment
• Nurse aides are on the unit, ratio 1:12
• RT equipment includes vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow
• Tele techs are in CMU but in the CVU unit; strips are read by MT and verified by RN
• Tele monitor system is GE
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed
• Holiday requirements: Yes
• Call or standby requirement: Determined by NM
• Floating: Determined by NM; may float within Zone 1 and may be asked to float into ICU (low acuity holds with skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Scrub color/dress code: Navy Blue
• Orientation date and location are assigned during the week of orientation
