Unit Details
- PICU
- 16 ICU beds and 16 INT beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
- Common patient types: Medical/Surgical/Neuro and CV ICU
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Negative drug screen for all panels
Preferred
- None stated
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- May work 1 significant and 1 insignificant holiday, depending on assignment timing
Float Scope
- May float to PIC and lower levels of care
- NICU/NIC is up to the traveler
Additional Details
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation
- 3 to 4 unit-specific orientation shifts
- No call or standby requirement
- 1 PCT for the unit
- Free charge RN 24/7
- House supervisor 24/7
- Intensivist, APP, and residents in house 24/7
- Nurses should be able to recognize rhythm changes and understand associated interventions
