Tele Float

Location

• Tacoma, Washington

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• Full time
• Every other weekend
• Up to 4 call/standby shifts during the contract
• 1–2 winter holidays

Unit / Setting

• Med/Surg and Telemetry
• Primary assignment is to the med surg/tele division
• All units are telemetry
• May float to all MS/Tele divisions and alternate med surg/tele units
• May also float throughout Region Two

Patient Care / Clinical Details

• RNs take 4–5 patients
• CNA support is available
• Tele is monitored remotely by telemetry techs; RNs verify strip readings
• RNs titrate drips
• Common drips include insulin, heparin, nitro, dobutamine, dopamine, and Cardizem
• Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and trachs; no vents

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• At least 2 years of acute care experience

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float as needed
• Breaks must be taken when offered and cannot be refused
• May be assigned as a CNA if RN short
• May be assigned as an entrance screener if needed
• Cannot have been full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year

Orientation

• 4 hours each on 7th, 8BC, 9th, 2 south, 3 south, and 4 south
• No orientation to alternate units
