CA license
2+ years of ER experience
Experience working in a high-volume, high-acuity ER

Preferred

PALS
TNCC
Travel experience
Level II trauma experience or above

Unit Details

ER unit
28 beds, including 4 fast track beds and 2 trauma bays
Typical patient volume: 155 patients per day
Common patient types include trauma, stroke, peds, and psych

Schedule and Work Conditions

Every other weekend
Holidays worked into perm staff rotation
Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
No floating
2–3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
Call: one day per month, with possible additional call depending on team rotation

Clinical Environment

Vents: yes
Hospitalist and intensivist in house 24/7
RT 24/7
Pharmacy 24/7
Nurse aides are EMTs
Tele: GE

Additional Notes

Candidates may take trauma patients depending on experience
Dysrhythmia test on day one for Telemetry, L/D, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs; pass/fail

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
