Schedule

• Nights
• 3x12 hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• ACLS
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• EPIC experience within the last year
• 2 years of recent hospital acute experience in the area submitting to
• Acute Care inpatient experience
• Tele experience
• Ability to titrate drips
• Ability to read and interpret own strips
• One supervisor reference from the most recent/current assignment
• DOB and SSN needed
• Must note if clinician has ever worked for OSU

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching facility experience

Unit Details

• Med Tele RN
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Most patients are on tele
• Monitor techs are available 24/7
• CNA support is available depending on census, with ratios of 1:8-12
• Common patient types include pre- and post-CABG care, cath lab, chest pain, new onset Afib, pacemaker, cardiac abnormalities, CHF, renal failure, pneumonia, COPD, psych-SI, altered MS, renal, uro, acute kidney, dialysis, wounds, and chronic and acute conditions
• RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP
• Charge nurse is usually free-float but may need to take a light patient assignment

Scheduling and Policies

• Minimum of 6 Saturdays or Sundays in a 6-week period
• Holidays are worked at manager discretion based on unit needs
• No holiday RTO approved
• No call
• 1 shift every 14 days call-off policy
• Self-scheduling is used after the initial schedule period
• Block schedules and matching travel partner schedules are not guaranteed

Orientation

• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Modules are required before day 1 and take about 2 hours
• Day 1 includes classroom and unit orientation from 0700-1900
• Unit orientation continues with a preceptor

Dress Code

• Black scrub top and bottom

Additional Notes

• Zero tolerance for license or background hits, regardless of how long ago
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Unit assignments are made via Oracle
