Registered Nurse (Stepdown 10W) - Morgantown, West Virginia

Position Details

Unit: Stepdown 10 West - Neuro
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Unit Beds: 26 total (22 floor beds, 4 step-down beds)
Patient Ratios:
- Stepdown: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Floor: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients

Patient Population

Neurosciences
Deep Brain Stimulators (DBS)
Stroke
Seizures
Surgical/Post-Operative Spine patients
Various Neurological Disorders

Required Qualifications

Current RN license
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications preferred
Strong overall neuro experience required

Clinical Responsibilities

Titration of drips is generally done by physician orders; some protocols may allow nurse titration with education provided
Common drips include: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, Insulin

Additional Information

Work schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
