ICU Nursing Opportunity - Roseburg, Oregon

Unit Details

• Unit: ICU
• Number of Beds: 16
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Shifts:

  • Day: 06:45 - 19:15
  • Night: 18:45 - 07:15
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• Call/Standby: Possible low census call with 30-minute response time

Patient Population & Care

• Common Diagnoses: Cardiac, Respiratory
• Experience Required: Acute Care, Critical Care
• RN Responsibilities:

  • Titrate drips (Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, Precedex)
  • Charge Nurse and House Supervisor roles available
• Support Staff:

  • No nurse aides on unit
  • Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house
  • Respiratory Therapist available 24/7 with full RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
  • RNs read telemetry strips (no monitor techs)

Certifications & Licenses

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Licensing: Eligible to apply for the Oregon 90-day Emergency License (no OR license needed at time of application)

Orientation & Policies

• Orientation: 2 shifts unit/department specific orientation
• Floating: Contract RNs required to float first per ONA contract, with efforts to rotate fairly
• Dress Code: Scrubs in black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech

Contract Length

• Duration: 13 weeks
