Overview

• Travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina.
• Unit: 65020 ICU.
• 28-bed mixed ICU.
• 36 hours per week, scheduled as 3 12-hour shifts per week.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
• Travelers are first to float; float scope includes the emergency department and PCU for PCU or ICU holds.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• CVICU experience within the last year.
• 3 years of CVICU experience.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Comfort managing patients on the ventilator.
• CRRT experience.
• Advanced hemodynamics experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to administer breathing treatments (inhalers and nebulizers).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN.
• Advanced Certifications.
• TNCC certification.
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment.
• Experience in a facility that used Meditech.

Clinical Skills and Procedures

• CRRT.
• Advanced hemodynamics.
• Phlebotomy.
• Respiratory treatments outside the ICU, including inhalers and nebulizers.
• Post-op day 0 CABG.
• Impellas.
• Balloon pumps.
• Swan Ganz.
• Neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
• EVDs.
• Bolts.
• Codman.
• Artic Sun with induced hypothermia.
• Training available for Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and head and neck flap procedures.

Additional Notes

• Bedside shift report is used for patient handoff.
• Required uniform: navy.
