Unit Overview

Unit Name: 10 Tower
Beds: 30 total (22 Acute Care, 8 Neuro Stepdown)
Patient Ratios: 6:1 on Acute Care, 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
Staffing: 1 RN Charge for entire 10 Tower, 1-2 Techs, and a Unit Secretary
Equipment:
- Acute Care: Vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, stroke care equipment
- Neuro Stepdown: Vapotherm, Bipap, tracheostomies, titrating cardiac drips
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Weekend shifts required
Floating Policy: Experienced nurses may float after orientation
Patient Experience: Bedside shift report, personal connection, daily huddle

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including Neuro PCU experience
PCU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Procedures Commonly Performed

Lumbar puncture
Chest tube placement

Work Environment & Culture

Dress Code: Black, any shade of blue or grey scrubs; any color scrubs allowed on Fridays
