Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (flexible, must be specified on submission)

Unit & Patient Care Information

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical with Telemetry
• Unit Beds: 60
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
• Patient Type: Medical inpatients only
• Equipment used: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
• Float Requirements: As needed to similar or lower acuity units

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical inpatient experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Utilize nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Adhere to professional accountability and facility standards, including Missouri Nurse Practice Act and organizational mission and values

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Exposure to blood and body fluids
• May require flexible scheduling including weekends as needed (typically every other weekend)
• No call requirements

• Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; no declinations accepted
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
