Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a fast-paced telemetry unit. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Unit & Patient Population

• Telemetry unit caring for patients with CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID-19, and post-procedure care (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, post-ICU cardiac surgery patients).
• Medications include non-titratable cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro.
• May float to ICU, medical-surgical units, or other telemetry-appropriate assignments based on competency.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (days), approximately 1845 - 0715.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• No call requirements, but may be required to work major holidays and pick up an additional shift during the schedule period.
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with stroke accreditation, serving a large regional area with a high volume and fast pace comparable to a Level I trauma center.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada prior to start.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam (including rhythm strip identification and measurement); failure results in contract termination.

• Travelers may be required to float within their competency level.
• The facility reserves the right to reduce shifts or call off with 48 hours’ notice due to low census during the contract period.
