Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM
Weekend Requirement: Yes
On Call Requirement: Yes

Job Summary

Provides independent nursing care in a cardiovascular surgery setting, managing routine and complex patient needs. Utilizes nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitors effectiveness and side effects, and documents all care provided. Educates patients, families, and caregivers on health needs and resources. Delegates tasks appropriately to manage clinical situations.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Schedule

Full-time, day shift (7 AM - 3 PM), Monday through Friday
Includes weekend and on-call responsibilities

Ability to manage complex clinical situations independently
Strong communication and patient education skills
Adherence to ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
