1 nurse to 6 patients

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN / LVN license in Texas
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
IV Therapy Certificate
Starting IV
Foley Insertion/Management
NGT Insertion/Management
Colostomy System Exchange
Drain Management (JP, Hemovac, Wound Vac)

Preferred Qualifications

Chest tube management
Port a Cath access and de-access competencies

Unit Details

Typical procedures: wound care, tube feedings
Equipment includes wound vac, trach, suction, Plum 360 IV Pumps, Covidien Kangaroo ePump, Kendall SCD
EMR: Meditech

Work Environment

Day shift staffing: 1 charge, 6 nurses, 3 PCT-CNA
Night shift staffing: 1 charge, 6 nurses, 3 PCT-CNA
Permanent positions on the unit are available
Best fit: team player, accountable
Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs; black or blue jacket
No visible tattoos
Unit guidelines include Bariatric Standards of Care and Clean Narcotic Administration Practice
