Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
Floating: Required to float as needed (may occasionally float to ICU for Med Surg Overflow or Step Down patients)
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:6, sometimes 1:7
EMR Systems: Cerner, Mindray Telemetry System
Scrubs Color: Royal Blue
Call: No call required
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of LPN/LVN experience (higher years of experience not indicated)
- BLS and IV certification required
- ACLS preferred
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers (agency must be registered with the state for fingerprinting process)
- Must be able to work block schedules or 48-hour guarantees if requested
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Job Description
The Medical Surgical Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for providing delegated direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include:
- Physical examination and data collection
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Patient education
- Medication administration
- Peripheral IV therapy
- Discharge planning
- Implementation of physician’s orders
- Documentation of care
The LPN/LVN must demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care. They also provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel based on their education and experience.

- Fingerprint clearance can take several weeks; only submit if agency is registered with New Mexico for fingerprinting
- Block schedules and 48-hour guarantees may be accommodated but must be specified in the submission
- Floating is required but rare; may include ICU coverage for overflow patients
