Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years in a hospital setting (highest requirement)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Licenses & Certifications
- Active Compact RN License at submission
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
Unit Information
- Unit: Medical Surgical (PNCU)
- Number of Beds: 18
- Staff Composition: 13 RNs, 5 LPNs, 25 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per 1 nurse
- Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, PEG tubes, IVs, central lines, drains, EKGs
- EMR System: Meditech
Work Schedule & Environment
- Shifts: Day and Night shifts available
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Job Responsibilities & Skills
- Assist neurologist with bedside lumbar punctures (LPs)
- Perform central line dressing changes, tube feedings, wound care, Foley catheter insertion
- Strong teamwork, compassion, and patience required
- Preferred skills: Strong communication and neuro assessment skills
- Personality fit: Outgoing, team player, compassionate

- Medical Surgical units
This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of hospital experience looking for a travel assignment in a medical-surgical unit with a supportive team environment.
