Job Opportunity: Rad Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)


Position Overview

  • Role: Radiology Technologist (Inpatient)
  • Department: Imaging Diagnostic
  • Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Call Requirements: No call

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire
  • State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology Technology
  • Fluoroscopy experience is required
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce optimal diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Operate imaging equipment and related machinery safely and competently
  • Verify and execute physicians’ orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams
  • Ensure proper patient preparation and safety during procedures
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures according to established guidelines
  • Assist other modalities within the department or health system as needed
  • Demonstrate competency in OR Suite, Trauma Suite, and portable radiography by 90-day evaluation
  • Participate in billing, supply stocking, file maintenance, medical charting, informed consent documentation, and quality improvement studies
  • May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • Float to other areas within competency as needed

Work Environment

  • Extremely busy, fast-paced Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Serves a 500-mile radius with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
  • Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
