Occupational Therapist (OT) Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility & Unit Information

  • Unit: Occupational Therapy (OT) at a 44-bed inpatient rehab hospital
  • Patient Ratios: 1 therapist to 4-5 patients
  • Staffing: 10 OT/PT teams, 1 tech available
  • Equipment: Hoyer and Sara Lifts, multiple patient ceiling lifts, Bioness, RT300 UE Bike, Diego, XCITE Functional E Stim
  • Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, rotating weekends at least one per month
  • Floating Policy: May float to the acute hospital therapy department
  • Patient Experience: Hospital-level inpatient rehab experience preferred; Stroke rehab experience required
  • Team: Mix of long-tenured and newer therapists, all motivated and committed to learning and education
  • Dress Code: Black scrub pants and royal blue top

Requirements

  • Certifications: BLS, OTR Certification
  • Licenses: Valid Occupational Therapist License
  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Occupational Therapy, with stroke rehab experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required

Additional Notes

  • Procedures: Neuro re-education with technology
  • Hospital Certifications: DNV Stroke and Brain Tumor Certification; Joint Commission Rehab Stroke Certification
  • Advanced skills: Not required
  • The unit emphasizes use of multiple advanced technologies and a supportive learning environment.
