Registered Nurse – Neurosurgery/Neuroscience

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Neurosurgery/Neuroscience
  • Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Unit Beds: 18
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Float Requirements: As needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
  • Minimum 2 years of neurosurgery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Neurology experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Unit and Patient Information

  • Patient population includes neurosurgery and neuroscience patients
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic preferred
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; no artificial fingernails allowed

Additional Notes

  • No prior travel experience explicitly required
  • Call is not required for this position
  • Focus on neuro and neurosurgery skills and experience

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized neuro unit with a supportive team and a manageable patient ratio.
