Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

- Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: As needed to similar or lower acuity units

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical inpatient experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and confidentiality of patient information
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by self and other caregivers
- Adhere to nursing practice guidelines and state Nurse Practice Act
- Comply with facility mission, values, and service standards
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.; pinch up to 15 lbs.; minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high-risk factor
- May require flexible scheduling and shift changes based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; no declinations accepted
- Dress code requires black scrubs only
- Teamwork, dependability, and flexibility are key personality traits for success in this role
