Unit Information

Unit Size: 22 beds
Staff: Approximately 30 (Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, 0-2 sitters; Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, 0-2 sitters)
Patient Ratios: Maximum 6:1
Equipment: Standard
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Floating Areas: Medical/Surgical units
Dress Code: Scrubs

Job Description

Care for 4-6 patients at a time
Provide nursing care for medical/surgical and orthopedic patients
Perform standard nursing procedures including:
- IV insertions
- Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
- Central line maintenance
- Medication administration
- Communication with care team members
- Documentation in EHR

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
ACLS certification
BLS certification

Work Schedule

Rotating weekends
