Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist

Location: Cortez, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide quality patient care and diagnostic radiographic imaging services. Responsibilities include performing imaging procedures, supervising radiographic technology students, and acting as a lead technologist in assigned modalities. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, patient safety, and departmental supply management.

Work Schedule

• Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT)
• CT Technologist experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and verify patient and procedure information
• Provide clear explanations about procedures to patients, families, and healthcare providers
• Perform imaging procedures using professional judgment to ensure diagnostic quality
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control policies
• Use Cerner and PACS systems appropriately for patient care
• Cover for peers as needed
• Communicate effectively within the department and with other hospital units
• Participate in professional development and community education activities
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity
• Perform all patient care activities in a manner that optimizes safety and reduces errors

Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Basic computer proficiency
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to supervise and lead as assigned

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally and up to 75 lbs frequently
• Full range of motion including kneeling, crouching, reaching, and feeling
• Ability to talk and hear effectively for communication
• Visual acuity including color vision and near/far focus adjustment
• Exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and occasional aggressive patients
• Possible exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind
