Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiac
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
Unit Information
- Unit Size: 41 beds
- Patient Ratios: 4 to 5 patients per nurse
- Patient Population: Cardiac telemetry, post-CABG, post-cardiac catheterization, chest pain, congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Omnicell
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
- Telemetry nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs; no fleece; adherence to fingernail policy
- Personality Fit: Displays the "4 C’s" (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, compassion)

- No call responsibilities
- Patient care focused on cardiac telemetry and post-operative cardiac patients
- Supportive team environment with access to advanced cardiac care technology
