Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts

Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 (Every other weekend)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process including Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. You will develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff. You will communicate changes in patients' clinical conditions with physicians, nursing supervisors/managers, and co-workers, and participate in the discharge planning process.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 104 across five units (adult, child, geriatric)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8 (lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units)
• Patient Population: Geriatric, pediatric (ages 5-17), and adult patients
• Equipment: None specified
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• BLS Certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

• Behavioral health nursing experience
• Familiarity with common diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety

• Dress code: Blue scrubs
• Supervision by shift supervisors only
