Travel RN Opportunity - Telemetry Unit

Location: Independence, Missouri

Unit Information

• Unit: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios:

  • AM: 1:3 or 1:4
  • PM: 1:4 or 1:5 (with patient care techs)
• Staffing:

  • Typically total RN-based care with no techs
  • Unit secretaries available 7am-7pm
• Equipment:

  • BiPAP
  • Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas
  • Alaris IV pumps
  • Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-time: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
  • Part-time: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
  • PRN 1: 3 shifts in 4 weeks with 1 weekend shift
  • PRN 2: 6 shifts in 4 weeks with 3 weekend shifts
  • Rotating holiday schedule
• Floating Policy:

  • PRN floats once per week
  • FT/PT staff float on rotation
  • Bonus shifts float first
• Patient Experience:

  • Bedside shift report
  • Hourly rounding
  • Daily leadership rounds

Hospital Certifications & Accreditations

• Level 2 Trauma Center
• Stroke Accreditation
• STEMI Accreditation
• Certified Bariatric Center

Required Qualifications

• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in RN specialty (Telemetry)
• Skills:

  • Advanced assessment and critical thinking
  • Management of vasoactive drips
  • Central Line or PICC line care

Work Environment & Culture

• Positive attitude and teamwork highly valued
• Floating primarily to MedSurg units
• Dress code:

  • Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms
  • Black or charcoal grey jackets (unit-specific jackets optional)
