Travel LPN/LVN Opportunity
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Surgical Care Unit (Med-Surg)
- Number of Beds: 42
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Patient Care Tech Ratio: ~12:1
- Unit Secretary Availability: 7 AM - 11 PM M-F, 7 AM - 7 PM Sat/Sun
- Patient Population: Med-surg patients, primarily post-op general surgery (GI/GU)
- Equipment: General Med-Surg
- Documentation System: Expanse (implemented 7/10)
- Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (7 AM - 7 PM), every other weekend; no blocked scheduling or guaranteed specific days
- Floating Policy: Charge nurse floats first to similar patient populations
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs or approved unit apparel (Team T-Shirts)
Requirements
- Licenses: LPN/LVN License
- Certifications: BLS (required), IV Therapy Certificate
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in LPN/LVN specialty
- Advanced Skills: None required
- Procedures Performed: Minimal; occasional I&D, joint aspirations, lumbar punctures
- Skills: Accountability, time management, self-starter, general nursing skills
- Patient Care Expectations: Timely, professional, empathetic care; deviations from highest nursing standards not accepted
Additional Information
- New charting system (Expanse) recently implemented
- Staff experience ranges from new graduates to 25 years tenure
- Must adhere to ICARE HCA values
- Tardiness and absenteeism are not tolerated
