• Unit: Labor and Delivery
• Location Details: 2nd Floor, Building B, Vintage Tower
• Beds:

  • Labor beds: 11
  • OB Evaluation: 4
  • OB PACU: 2
  • ORs: 2
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 10 Staff RNs, 2 OB Techs
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 10 Staff RNs, 2 OB Techs
• Patient Ratios:

  • 1 RN to 2 patients (typical)
  • 1 RN to 1 patient (higher acuity)
• Equipment: GE fetal monitoring
• EMR Systems: CPN, Meditech

Required Skills and Certifications

• Must Have:

  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
  • Ability to provide couplet care if floated
• Preferred:

  • Over 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
  • Experience as a Transition Nurse/Baby Catcher
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Typical Procedures

• Non-Stress Test (NST)
• Cervical exams
• Managing labor
• Titrating medications
• McRoberts maneuver

Scheduling

• Weekends and on-call shifts required as needed (typically no scheduled on-call)
