Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Mammography Tech
• Department: Radiology / Mammography Unit
• Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8)
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
• Call Requirements: No regular call; however, traveler may be expected to cover/float on weekends and holidays as needed
• Holiday Work: Required to work 2-3 major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the contract period
• Floating: May be required to float to other units within competency level

Licenses & Certifications

• Must have ARRT certification
• Must have Nevada State License before start date
• BLS certification required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Mammography Tech experience required
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Job Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic mammograms and assist radiologists and referring physicians with mammographic procedures
• Ensure patient care and safety for adult and geriatric patients
• Operate mammography equipment proficiently to achieve high-quality images
• Make technical decisions to optimize image quality
• Use hospital and department computer systems as needed
• May perform additional duties related to the Breast Center as required

Work Environment

• Extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a large regional area (500-mile radius)
• Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation
• Large facility with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
• Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center

Additional Notes

• The facility reserves the right to call off shifts with 48 hours’ notice for low census during the 13-week contract
• Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Floating assignments may be required based on organizational needs
