Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: ICU
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Number of Staff: 46
  • Patient Ratios:
    • 1:2 typical
    • 1:3 for PCU boarders
    • 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
  • Staffing: 1 CCT/US during day shift if > 10 patients
  • Documentation System: EPIC
  • Scheduling: Straight nights or 50/50 shifts
  • Floating Policy: PCU or sitter anywhere in hospital inpatient

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Years of ICU experience: Minimum 2 years (1 year strong experience may be considered)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (required)
    • BLS
    • NIH Certification
  • Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Rapid Sequence Intubations
  • Central line placements
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Intubation
  • Arterial line placement
  • Chest tube placement
  • Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills

Work Environment & Culture

  • Best personality fit: Outgoing, team player
  • Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
  • Weekend Shifts: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
  • On-call: May be required

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
