Travel RN - Post Anesthesia Care (PACU)
Location: Portland, Maine
Contract Length: 24 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Unit: Perioperative Pre-Post MFT 1 (23-hour overnight stay unit)
Patient Population: Cardiac Cath/EP, TAVR, Vascular, Pediatric Caths, Robotic TAVRs
Number of Beds: 40 pre/post beds, 9 overnight bays
Patient Ratios: 2:1 in Phase 1 care; up to 3-4 patients in 23-hour stay
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Minimum 3 years of PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience, including experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Cardiac Catheterization experience
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) experience
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with pre and post procedure Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
- Experience with pre and post procedure cardioversion
- IV starts experience
Work Schedule & Call Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts
- Weekend day shifts scheduled every other weekend
- Rotating call every other weekend
Unit Information & Equipment
- Equipment includes IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, arterial lines, tele monitoring, TEE/CV
- EMR system: Epic
