Unit Information

• Unit: Endoscopy
• Number of Beds: 4 Endoscopy Procedure Rooms
• Staffing: Approximately 25 staff members

  • Day Shift: Primarily RNs, with scrub tech and scope room techs
  • Night Shift: On call only
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 20-30 patients through the department each weekday
• Type of Equipment: Olympus scopes, Provation procedural documentation
• EMR System: Meditech

Responsibilities

• All RNs are trained to:

  • Admit patients
  • Circulate and scrub in procedural cases
  • Recover and discharge patients

Hiring Profile

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Skills

• PACU or ICU experience (preferred but not required)

• EGD
• Colonoscopy
• ERCP
• Bronchoscopy
