Job Description

• Unit Description: Transitional Care Unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or two per month
• Patient Ratio: 1:7-8 (float required)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS-AHA (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• EKG Testing: Must pass before start date (required for all Medsurg nurses)

Additional Information

• Time Off Policy: Travelers requesting time off during holidays will not be accommodated. Holidays include Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Competencies and Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Must be completed within 45 days of start.
• Negative TB Test: Required within a year of start.
• Vaccination Records:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Flu Vaccine (required for specific start dates)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (two doses required)

Background Check

• Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually.

References

• Two supervisory references required, completed within the last three years.

• 7-Year Work History required with no gaps over 30 days without explanation.
• List nursing license state, license number, and expiration date.

Skills Checklist

• Unit-specific skills checklist required within the last year, updated annually.
