Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Float between ICU and Medical-Surgical units
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Work every other weekend
• 50% coverage on holidays and weekends
• Stroke experience required; strong Neuro checklist preferred
• ICU experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience acceptable
• Certifications required: ACLS and BLS (CPI preferred)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC provider card required for ICU and critical care areas including Neuro ICU
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC provider card required for all RNs
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Preferred for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs; can be completed onsite if not obtained prior to start
• NIH Stroke Certification: Preferred but not required for Neuro ICU and Med Surg Neuro
• Other certifications may be required depending on specialty and unit

Experience & Skills

• ICU experience with strong neurological and stroke care skills
• Ability to float between ICU and Med Surg units
• Must be able to work every other weekend and cover 50% of holidays and weekends

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
  • Must include alias/all names search, counties lived/worked/school, national and federal criminal searches, sex offender search, social security trace, and applicable international checks if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
  • MO-specific searches (FCSR or Caregiver search) required and must be on file before start
• Licenses & Verifications:

  • State license primary source verification within 60 days of start
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 60 days
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or approved exemptions:

    • Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or titer (declinations no longer accepted for new candidates)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season (09/01 - 03/31)
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (not required for some tech roles)
• References: Two professional references within the last 3 years required
• Resume: Must include 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days, education details, and contact information

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required for new candidates only
• Various facility-specific forms and agreements must be signed and submitted prior to start
• Time-sensitive initiation of background checks, health screenings, and documentation within 48 hours of signing contract
• CPI training provided onsite at no cost if needed
• COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required as of 11/21/2023
