Location: Seattle, Washington

Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
Hours per Week: 48
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Overview

• High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery assignment with 4 ORs.
• Role includes functioning as Baby Nurse during delivery and continuing newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
• Float scope includes Postpartum and Antepartum, with possible float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Experience functioning as baby nurse during delivery and providing newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
• Experience with circulation duties in the operating room.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) experience.
• Current supervisory references.
• Proof of required certifications with submission.
• Current NURSYS.
• EPIC experience.
• Must pass clinical review.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of high-risk experience.
• ACLS.
• AWHONN Advanced.
• AWHONN Intermediate.

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Additional Notes

• 1st timers accepted.
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• Pre-approved time off is case by case.
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines.
• Midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics are part of the patient mix.
• Average daily census is 15; 500–600 deliveries per month.
• Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds.
