Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Omaha, Nebraska
• 13-week contract
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 48 hours per week
• 36 or 48-hour scheduling option mentioned

Role Details

• Werner Specialty Care Unit (WSCU) is a 36-bed mixed acuity unit serving adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or high dose chemotherapy, with or without bone marrow/stem cell transplant, and complex medication and blood product administration
• Travelers are first to float and should be prepared to float frequently
• RNs should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients
• Travelers do not administer chemo
• Ratios are 1:4 days and 1:5 nights
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially to Bellevue campus
• Possible float units include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience with 2 years of experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• 2 years of prior experience in a large, urban hospital
• Experience with Epic
• Pending license accepted, but if the license is not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out

Preferred

• ACLS
• Chemo

Additional Requirements

• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to two weeks of requested time off is permitted
• Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility
• RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back
• 100% nicotine-free facility
