Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location

Utica, New York

Contract

Travel/contract assignment
13 weeks
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
36 hours per week

Schedule

Every other weekend
No block schedule guaranteed
Holiday coverage may include Christmas Eve/Day and New Year’s Eve/Day

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
NIHSS
Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
Experience with Epic
Ability to work in a high-acuity emergency department

68-bed emergency department
Level III trauma center
Comprehensive stroke center
Regional cardiac center
Includes super track, psych, trauma, results pending, and occasional hallway beds
All private rooms

Support Staff

PCTs
First-look RN
Triage RN
Charge RN
Secretary
Respiratory therapy
Lab support on occasion
Critical response RN

Orientation

Half-day clinical orientation
Half-day unit shadowing

Additional Notes

Parking is available at no charge
SANE experience is not listed as required, but the team may ask about it and comfort with caring for a patient needing that exam
