Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Facility Size: 25-bed critical access hospital
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Call Requirement: Yes

  • Call hours are from 7 PM after shift until next shift start
  • Virtual call possible for CPAP/BiPAP questions; hands-on required at times in ER or Acute Care
• Locals allowed at same rate
• No radius restriction

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential (RRT or CRT)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Employment eligibility verification (I9 or equivalent)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year work/living history
  • Sex offender search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly updates required)
  • Missouri-specific checks (EDL and Highway Patrol) prior to start and updated quarterly
• Competency exam in specialty (annual update required)
• Physical exam signed by MD, PA, or NP (no physician prescription pad signatures)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Tspot, or Qgold) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive TB test; TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Drug screening: 11-panel within 30 days of start, with MRO process; new screen required if break in employment >3 months
• Seasonal flu vaccination or mask requirement during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement prior to start
• Employment application signed by candidate (resume alone not sufficient)
• Two professional references (one within 12 months of assignment start), both from supervisory roles
• Performance evaluation from most recent assignment if employed with agency over 1 year
• Skills checklist and work history verification:

  • Minimum 2 years verified relevant experience within last 3 years (1 year accepted for Long Term Care, CNA, and tech assignments)
  • Gaps in work history must be explained (e.g., education)
