PCU Travel Nurse

Overview

• Location: Anniston, Alabama
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 8 weeks
• Schedule note: Every other weekend; float to MedSurg units
• Patient ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Active Alabama nursing license
• ACLS
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Ability to work in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown settings
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• Ability to start IVs
• Ability to manage heparin protocols
• Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration
• Driver's License

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Driver’s license or state ID
• Social Security number
• Background check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM screening
• HHS/OIG screening
• Transcript, diploma, or third-party education verification
• Competency exam, as applicable to profession/specialty
• Review and sign the traveler attendance policy
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit testing within 12 months of start
• Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the past 12 months
• TB questionnaire
• MMR immunity documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
• Hepatitis B documentation
• Varicella immunity documentation
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or declination
• Skills checklist, updated annually
