Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)
Contract Length: 4 weeks

Job Description

• Surgical Technologist position with a focus on Surgical Services.
• Required experience in Total Joints and General Orthopedics.
• Patient age group: Adolescents and Adults.
• Floating may be required, possibly to an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
• No on-call required for this assignment.
• Local candidates within 75 miles preferred but first-time travelers are accepted.
• Scrubs provided.
• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly.
• Start date fixed: July 13, 2027. Candidates must be compliant by this date.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license).
• Social Security Card (only if used for I9 verification).
• Background check within 90 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace, county, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable), education verification (if no NCCT/NBSTSA certification).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start.
• OFAC sanctions list search within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start (latex allergy acceptable).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start; chest X-rays valid for 2 years.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required every 10 years (no exemptions).
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers required (no exemptions).
• Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination documentation.
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; low/equivocal titers require boosters.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions).
• Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted.
• Two professional references from employment within 12 months of start, at least one must be a supervisor.
• Employment application with 7 years of work history.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exam required.

Orientation and Onboarding

• Candidates must set up a Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
• Online orientation modules must be completed before starting orientation.
• Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date.
• Pass/fail testing on basic technician knowledge administered on the first day of orientation; passing score is 80%. Retesting allowed once.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training provided onsite if candidate does not have one.
