Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health

Location

  • Torrance, California

Employment Type

  • Travel / Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5 days per week, 8 hours per day)
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Patient Load and Case Types

  • Average 5-7 patients per day
  • Minimum 6 visits daily or 30 points weekly
  • Geriatric patient population

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California
  • Physical Therapy Assistant (1 year of experience)
  • Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Equipment and Tools

  • iPad provided for documentation
  • Cell phone use not allowed during work
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background checks updated within 90 days of start, including:
    • SSN trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide sex offender, motor vehicle records, education verification, and work history verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
  • State-specific background checks as applicable
  • Fingerprinting requirements vary by state (not required for all placements)
  • Education verification of highest degree related to profession
  • Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual (updated annually)
  • Primary source verification of state license within 90 days of start and upon expiration

  • Fit test for N95 mask (no specific model required)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD

    • Rubella

    • Proof of current auto insurance (required for all home health positions involving driving)
    • Acceptable Use Policy signed prior to start
    • Agency background attestation signed by candidate and agency
